Kanye West will be acquiring Parler, a "viewpoint-neutral social media [app] dedicated to freedom of expression, civil discourse, and user privacy." The app has 11.72 million lifetime installs.
Outside of last night, Amazon can't be thrilled with the games it's been able to broadcast on Thursday Night Football. Still, the NFL is such a draw that it can be thrilled with the number of new mobile app users its acquiring (September was the app's most downloaded month ever) due to its exclusive deal through Amazon Prime Video. The first three Thursdays of the season, the app hit #1 in the iOS App Store. On the fourth Thursday it hit #2 and on the fifth it hit #3. While not shown here, it did hit #2 again last night. Amazon Prime Video does not normally rank this high - it last ranked #2 in March 2021, and to my knowledge has never ranked #1 before its first Thursday Night Football game this season.
Atlas Earth is the second highest grossing Google Play app in the Finance category over the past 30 days, behind Intuit's QuickBooks. The app is making more money on Google Play than iOS which is not the norm. 900 square feet of land costs $5 and users can "earn rent" on their properties by watching ads. Given real estate investing is hot and the metaverse is a thing people are forced to talk about, I think we're going to see a few more virtual real estate platforms pop up. My advice to Atlas Earth? Put these transactions on the blockchain and write "web3" in your app description so you can get millions in funding and inevitably open up the platform up to creators.
