DraftKings will be acquiring Golden Nugget Online Gaming, an online gambling company, for $1.56 billion in stock. Its suite of mobile apps has been downloaded a quarter of a million times over the past 365 days.
Embracer has acquired Crazy Labs, a hypercasual games publisher, who itself made an appearance as an acquiring company in this newsletter last week. Crazy Labs games have been downloaded 65 million times just in the past 365 days.
Gopuff has acquired Dija, a grocery delivery startup in the UK. The app has been installed 134k times since launch in March 2021.

Bolt spends money on growth and expansion
While Bolt and Lyft operate in different markets, I wanted to display the comparison because I know many of my readers have a good understanding of Lyft's performance as a successful rideshare operator. Bolt operates in Europe, Africa, and Asia while Lyft operates in the US and Canada. In May, for the first time ever, Bolt was downloaded more times than Lyft. It's DAUs are still below that of Lyft but have been closing in. Bolt has recently expanded into food delivery as well with its app, Bolt Food. CNBC reported the company is now valued at $4.75 billion after its latest round of funding.
Amazon and Flipkart have serious competition heading into India's festive season
Since July 21st, Meesho has been the #1 Overall app in the Google Play Store in India. What is it? A reseller and marketplace platform combined, specializing in social commerce. The company raised $300M earlier this year in April at a valuation of $2.1B. Just this month it became the first ecommerce company in the country of India to introduce zero percent commission for its sellers. Sellers and buyers are flocking to the mobile app, where MAUs are up 147% since March.
